In this context, the official visit of H.E. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal represents a significant milestone in UAE\u2013Nepal relations and reflects the shared ambition of both countries to elevate their cooperation into a comprehensive economic partnership.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>At the Presidential Palace in Kathmandu, H.E. Ram Chandra Paudel, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, received Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi in the presence of H.E. Abdullah bin Jarwan Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Nepal. The meeting focused on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in trade, investment, and sustainable development, amid global economic transformations and the growing importance of international economic partnerships.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>During the meeting, Dr. Al Zeyoudi conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, along with their congratulations to President Paudel on assuming office and their wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Nepal and its people.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>President Paudel expressed Nepal\u2019s appreciation for its growing partnership with the UAE, emphasizing Kathmandu\u2019s commitment to further developing cooperation with Abu Dhabi across key sectors, particularly trade, investment, and sustainable economic growth. He highlighted the UAE as a trusted economic partner with extensive global experience in investment, commerce, and development.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>## UAE Trade Days: A Platform for Future Partnerships<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>The visit took place as part of the \u201cUAE Trade Days\u201d initiative, which brought together a high-level Emirati delegation of government officials and business leaders to explore new avenues for economic cooperation with Nepal and unlock investment opportunities for the private sector in both countries.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>During the visit, Dr. Al Zeyoudi held a series of high-level meetings with Nepalese officials, including the Speaker of the Federal Parliament, ministers of foreign affairs, finance, home affairs, and industry, commerce and supplies, as well as the Prime Minister\u2019s Office Advisor and representatives of Nepal\u2019s business community and Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>The discussions focused on enhancing trade flows, facilitating investment, encouraging private-sector partnerships, and creating practical frameworks to support long-term economic cooperation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>## Complementary Economies: UAE Investment Meets Nepal\u2019s Natural Potential<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Dr. Al Zeyoudi emphasized that Nepal possesses significant economic potential and valuable opportunities for investment, noting that the two countries share strong prospects for economic complementarity, particularly in hydropower, tourism, agricultural industries, technology, information technology, and infrastructure development.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>He highlighted that the next phase of cooperation will focus on transforming promising opportunities into tangible projects led by the private sector, creating sustainable value and supporting economic growth in both nations.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>The UAE minister also participated in a business dialogue bringing together leading investors and entrepreneurs from both countries. Discussions explored investment opportunities in renewable energy, infrastructure, tourism, digital transformation, and agricultural processing, while emphasizing the importance of strengthening air connectivity between the UAE and Nepal to support trade, tourism, and business mobility.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>## Economic Indicators Reflect Accelerating Growth<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>The rapid development of UAE\u2013Nepal economic relations is reflected in recent trade figures. Non-oil foreign trade between the two countries reached US$438.4 million in 2025, recording an annual growth rate of 90.1 percent.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Nepal\u2019s non-oil exports to the UAE increased to US$348.6 million, representing growth of more than 109 percent compared with the previous year, while UAE re-exports to Nepal reached US$84.6 million, registering a growth rate of 44 percent.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>These figures demonstrate the accelerating pace of economic engagement and the expanding opportunities for both countries to build a more diversified and resilient economic partnership.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>## Beyond Trade: A Strategic Partnership for the Future<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>The significance of this visit extends beyond trade volumes and investment opportunities.
